PAF Issued Flight Safety Instructions on Eid-ul-Adha, 2026
Writer: Exponect.com Team
Every year as Eid-ul-Adha approaches, millions of
Pakistanis receive an urgent SMS on their mobile phones from the Pakistan Air
Force (PAF):
"We Fly to protect our motherland, safeguard our
aircraft and pilots from Dangerous Bird strikes by ensuring proper disposal of
slaughtered animal waste this Eid."
Why the disposal of sacrificial animal remains on
Eid-ul-Adha is very important for flight safety and national security, and these
security safeguards are very crucial and these can be implemented worldwide
regarding Qurbani in 2026. These instructions have been announced by the
Pakistan Air Force for this occasion.
At first glance, you might wonder:
How does a religious sacrifice on the ground connect
to fighter jets flying high in the sky?
According to an official flight safety advisory issued
via the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), the way you handle your sacrificial
waste this Eid is directly tied to national security, the lives of our pilots,
and public safety.
The Invisible Threat: The Science of a Bird Strike
When animal entrails, offal, and blood are left out in
open plots, on street corners, or in unsealed plastic bags, they quickly rot in
the summer heat. This creates an instant, massive feeding ground for large
scavenger birds like vultures, kites, eagles, and crows.
The PAF Flight Safety Officer warns that these birds
create a catastrophic hazard for aircraft during take-off and landing for three
major reasons:
The Missile or Force Effect:
Fighter jets fly at incredibly high speeds. At those
velocities, colliding with a bird is not a minor bump. The impact hits the
aircraft with the force of a bullet or a missile.
Engine Ingestion:
If a large bird is sucked into a jet engine, it can
cause instant, total engine failure.
Collateral Damage:
A damaged jet can crash, leading to the loss of
priceless national defense assets, the loss of brave pilots, and massive
destruction to civilians living near airbases.
How to Follow the PAF Advisory: Your Action Plan
To protect our motherland and keep our communities
safe, the PAF and local authorities urge every citizen to follow these strict
guidelines during the days of Eid:
1.Secure the Waste Immediately:
Step 1.
Do not leave animal remains in the open. Place all
offal, skin remnants, and waste into heavy-duty, properly tied garbage bags.
2.Use Designated Drop-Off Points:
Step 2.
Dispose of the bags only at government-designated
dumpsters or collection points. If your area lacks a collection system, bury
the waste deeply underground far from residential areas.
3.Disinfect the Slaughter Area:
Step 3.
Wash the sacrificial area thoroughly with water and
apply disinfectants or lime powder (Choona). This eliminates the smell of blood
that attracts predatory birds from miles away.
Environmental Responsibility: Why Cleanliness is National Security
According to an official flight safety advisory reported by Radio Pakistan and the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has issued an urgent alert to citizens. The PAF has warned that improperly disposing of entrails, viscera, organic refuse, and carcass remnants near cities and airports creates serious aviation security threats to high-speed aircraft and national defense.
The Universal Message on Eid-ul-Adha:
On Eid-ul-Adha, fulfilling your religious duty does not end when the sacrifice is made. True civic and Islamic responsibility means ensuring that bio-waste is completely cleared. Cleanliness is a part of the teachings of Islam. A neat and clean environment is also a shield against air pollution, ensuring safe flights.
Final Core Thoughts:
According to a survey conducted by Exponect.com team,
the government in Pakistan makes proper arrangements to dispose of sacrificial
animal remains on Eid-ul-Adha. However, the public often neglects these safety
measures. As a result, animal waste, offal, and blood are frequently left
scattered across various areas for days. This causes a severe foul odor and
pollutes the environment. Therefore, we strongly urge citizens to cooperate
with the Government of Pakistan and other relevant authorities during this
festive occasion.
