How To Redirect Deleted Post URL in Blogger to Fix 404 Errors

you delete your blog post then your post Title and URL is deleted if it is
indexed on Google Search Engine. When someone clicks on your indexed post title
then he will see message like this
404
There's nothing here!
Sorry, the page you were
looking for in this blog does not exist.
The
message you see as in the image below.
While
link is not live but it’s a dead link on internet.
Why you redirect your post URL?
Sometimes,
your post is very important and rank on Google. You want to write again post
with same content and redirect it with new post URL because sometimes you
delete post by mistake.
To Transfer Link Juice:
Sometimes, you think that you should transfer your new Old Post URL Link Juice to any one of your blog posts. So, you use redirection. In Blogger or WordPress.

You want to that your audience or readers don’t see
this message of 404 as Error. therefore, you use the technique of redirection
for post URL. It leaves Good impressions on readers.
Step-by-Step Guide to Redirect Post URL in Blogger:
Sign in your blogger according using your Gmail
account.
Visit your blogger dashboard then click on Settings
Now, find “Custom 404”. You will find it below “Meta tags” and above “Crawlers and indexing”. Right below the “Errors and redirects” you will find “Custom redirects” as shown in the image below.
Now, click the icon of Custom redirects
A dialogue box will open as shown in the image below
Click Add
You will see a new dialogue box with two sections
From and To
In From, you will add old deleted post URL
Copy part of old Post URL
Copy the part of URL which starts after slash (/) i.e. from date till end of html. As you can see below
Old Deleted Post URL:
https://www.exponect.com/2026/05/website-blog-blogger-blogging-meanings-definitions-differences.html
New Post URL:
https://www.exponect.com/2026/05/website-vs-blog-vs-blogger-vs-blogging-vs-blog-content-guide.html
In To section, you will paste the part of the URL which you want to redirect. As shown in the figure below
Click Permanent
Green signal will on.
Click OK
Click Save
Your post has been redirected successfully.
You must check by clicking the indexed title on Google, as it opens the page to which you have redirected.
